The year of 2014 was an exciting one for McCathern, PLLC with expansions and growth geographically, internally, and personally, including: a new location, new section, new Partners, and giving back to our communities.

On March 17th we were proud to announce the opening of a new office in Los Angeles, California. The merge with Los Angeles-based law firm, Braden, Hinchcliffe & Hawley LLP, has proven successful in strengthening McCathern’s influence in California and our relationship with clients across the nation.

In addition to the new location, McCathern law firm also formed a Bankruptcy, Restructuring, & Creditors’ Rights section with the goal of providing clients with exceptional legal services offered at affordable rates. Attorneys in this new section represent clients in all aspects of bankruptcy, reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings and workouts, re-financing and forbearance negotiations and disputes, collection actions, multi-jurisdictional insolvencies, corporate “wind downs” or liquidations, and bankruptcy-related litigation matters.

On October 17th we were excited to name attorneys Joseph E. Sampson and Ty M. Sheaks Partners of the firm. Both attorneys are experienced litigators who have worked to achieve the best possible results for each client, and their promotions strengthen McCathern’s practice as leaders in civil and business litigation cases.

Last, but certainly not least, our employees have continued to grow personally through improving people’s lives both at work and off-the-clock. Daleroy Stewart from the Dallas office coached the A-Team of the Duncanville Vikings football team made up of 11-12 year olds (many coming from single-parent households).

Daleroy explained, “Knowing the struggles and sacrifices my family went through as I was growing up is what motivated me to volunteer. Not only do I work on coaching the fundamentals and how to play the game, I also try to coach them in life; how to be men: their responsibilities on the field, at home, and within the community. It’s fun coaching, being competitive, and letting the kids know the importance of being a family. We ended the season 7-4; this was the first season finishing with more than one win!”

Andrew Green does pro bono work for the Veteran Legal Services branch of the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Association, and we have several other volunteers, board members, committee members, and coaches serving organizations like the Dravet Syndrome Foundation, Genesis Women’s Shelter, Lawyers Service Children Committee, Union Rescue Mission, YMCA, Friends of Lakewood Elementary, Friends of J.L. Long Middle School, Amigos de las Americas, Dallas Bar Association Build Project (Habitat for Humanity), Union Gospel Mission of Dallas, Allen Sports Association, Boy Scouts of America, Carr Cares Foundation, and Stop Hunger Now.

McCathern, PLLC also had groups participate in One Mission’s Kid’s Cancer Buzz-Off, Revlon’s Breast Cancer Walk and PacMutual’s Blood Drive.

Thank you for growing with us in 2014, and we look forward to an even better 2015!

Cheers,

McCathern, PLLC
