On Monday, April 29, 2019, McCathern attorney Thomas “Tommy” Perkins was sworn into the Northern District of Texas by Federal District Judge Sam Lindsay at the Earle Cabell Federal Building in Dallas. After gaining experience practicing in state court both as a prosecutor and defense attorney, Tommy is excited to begin accepting cases at the federal level.
Tommy was sponsored by his father, Tom Perkins Jr., and Mr. Perkins was able to attend the occasion in person. Mr. Perkins is an Assistant Professor of Law at UNT Dallas College of Law and previously spent eight years as the Dallas City Attorney.
“The great thing about what happened yesterday was that my dad Tom Perkins, Jr was my sponsor and it was an amazing honor for him to think highly enough of me, my abilities as an attorney, my work ethic and my integrity to put his name on the line as a sponsor,” Tommy said. “It is a great opportunity that will open the McCathern criminal practice up to a wide variety of new cases and clients and allow me to grow exponentially as an attorney.”
