Kelli G. Hawley

Of Counsel

Biography

Kelli G. Hawley is an Of Counsel attorney in McCathern’s Los Angeles office after previously serving as the office’s managing partner. Kelli concentrates her practice in construction law, with additional expertise in litigation of real estate disclosure, business, contracts, products liability, construction injury, and subrogation disputes.

Kelli regularly handles high-exposure defense of developers and general contractors under Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (“OCIP”) and Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (“CCIP”), better known as wrap-up insurance policies. She has an established track record of early and economic resolution of pre-litigation claims both under SB800 and Calderon statutes. Kelli has practiced law since 1985, with both jury and bench trial experience. Because she has represented plaintiffs as well as defendants throughout the State of California, she provides a broad range of expertise to her clients.

Born in Orange, California, Kelli attended the University of Redlands. As an undergraduate, she interned with the Honorable Patrick J. Morris, then Presiding Judge of the San Bernardino County Superior Court. While obtaining her legal education from the University of San Diego School of Law, Kelli worked as an intern for an environmental law clinic. Upon graduation, she clerked for construction defect mediator, Merville Thompson, Esq. Prior to joining McCathern, Kelli was a founding partner of Braden, Hinchcliffe & Hawley, LLP. Kelli is a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).

Kelli is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court for both the Southern and Central Districts of California.
