Biography
Jae-Lyn Overton is an associate whose practice focuses on family law, where she is committed to helping clients navigate sensitive and complex matters with clarity, compassion, and practical guidance. She brings a strong foundation in behavioral science and legal advocacy to every case she handles.
Jae-Lyn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavioral Science from the University of Kansas in 2020. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2022, where she distinguished herself through academic involvement and advocacy achievements.
During law school, Jae-Lyn served on the Indiana International and Comparative Law Review and competed in Moot Court, where she was awarded membership in the Order of the Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy. She also gained valuable experience serving as a Judicial Intern for the Indiana Court of Appeals, further strengthening her understanding of court processes and client advocacy.
Prior to joining McCathern, Jae-Lyn worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Collin County District Attorney’s Office. Her background in public service has shaped her commitment to advocating for individuals facing challenging moments in their lives.
Jae-Lyn is passionate about meeting clients where they are and helping them move forward with confidence and support as they work toward positive resolutions for their families.
