McCathern partners Ty Sheaks and Joey Sampson will be presenting as the faculty legal advisors at the annual Academy for Venue Safety & Security (AVSS). The AVSS, wAVSS 2020hich takes place this year at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel from March 1 – March 5, is a dynamic two-year school designed to equip attendees with best practices, resources and tools to face the evolving challenges of public assembly venues. AVSS is conducted by the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), which is made up of 6,800+ active members from auditoriums, arenas, convention centers, exhibit halls, stadiums, performing arts centers, university complexes, amphitheaters and fairgrounds from around the globe. IAVM’s mission is to educate, advocate for and inspire public assembly venue professionals worldwide.

Joey Sampson will be speaking on Monday, at the Year 1 session “Risk Management – Legal Issues”, which will take place from 11:30am – 12:30pm (PST).

Ty Sheaks will also be speaking on Monday, March 2nd, but at the Year 2 session “Emerging Risks & Laws for Venue Managers” which will take place from 11:30am – 2:45pm (PST).
