McCathern Partner Ty Sheaks was recently invited to be included on the America’s Top 100 Bet-the-Company Litigators for 2020, a list of many the country’s highest regarded high-stakes litigators. Ty joins Founding Partner Levi McCathern on the site’s list of this class of commercial litigators in the North Texas region.

To be considered for this list, “an attorney must have litigated a matter with the fate of a business worth at least $2,000,000 at stake.” The America’s Top 100 Attorneys organization then analyzes each candidates’ “professional experience, litigation experience, significant business litigation case results, representative Bet-the Company matters, peer reputation, and community impact in order to rank the candidates throughout the state.” The selected litigators are then grouped by the states or highly populated regions in which they practice.

Ty Sheaks and Levi McCathern certainly meet these criteria, as both lawyers specialize in difficult and high-exposure litigation matters where a business’ future is often on the line. Levi is widely recognized as one of the highest profile litigation attorneys in Texas, specializing in catastrophic damage litigation, directors & officers (D&O) liability, and employment law. Ty has successfully mediated, arbitrated, and tried numerous cases, including D&O liability claims, construction defect disputes, dram shop liability, premises liability claims, non-subscription defense, catastrophic personal injury claims, labor/employment disputes, toxic tort and products liability claims, medical malpractice claims, collections, and breach of contract actions.

McCathern congratulates both partners for adding to their decorated litigation careers.

“It is the mission of America’s Top 100 LLC to recognize annually and on a lifetime basis the most qualified and accomplished professionals in various fields of practice, including attorneys, doctors, dentists, realtors, accountants, engineers, and architects (among other professionals). Membership in each specific category is by invitation-only after a multi-phase selection process including third-party research and statistical analysis of a candidate’s professional experience, achievements, significant results, community impact, peer reputation, consumer satisfaction, and other proprietary factors specific to each profession.

Membership is limited to the Top 100 professionals from each state [or highly populated region] in each category of practice who best exhibit excellence and the highest ethical standards in their respective professions. With these high standards, less than 1% of professionals in the United States will be selected for membership as one of America’s Top 100™ in their profession.
