Biography
Attorney Tammy Massa is a seasoned Associate Attorney with 17 years of legal practice who joined McCathern’s Houston office in 2024. Tammy specializes in Criminal Defense. Tammy has extensive trial experience, and previously held notable roles as a high-level prosecutor in both the Montgomery County and Harris County District Attorney Offices and spent several years honing her skills as a defense attorney.
Tammy has also contributed significantly to the Houston legal community. She was recognized for her role in educating prosecutors across the State of Texas, both through the Texas District and County Attorneys Association (TDCAA) and in-house at the District Attorney’s Offices.
Tammy graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2007. While in law school, Tammy worked for several law firms, where she gained valuable civil litigation and criminal defense experience. In addition, she was a research assistant for her tax law professor and competed in mock trial competitions.
A dedicated professional, Tammy is an active member of national, state, and local bar organizations, including the prestigious Texas Bar Foundation where she is a Sustaining Life Fellow. The Foundation is an elite organization of Texas lawyers whose mission is focused enhancing the rule of law and the system of justice in Texas through charitable contributions. Nomination is based on outstanding contributions to the legal profession as well as a commitment to the community.
Beyond her legal pursuits, Tammy finds joy in spending quality time with her husband and two young kids. An avid lover of the outdoors, she enjoys staying active and traveling to beaches around the world.
