The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to manage a full caseload independently, draft pleadings and motions, and represent clients in hearings and mediations. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with legal research and case management tools.

DANIEL K. HAGOOD FEATURED IN WFAA STORY ON COLLAPSED FEDERAL HEALTH CARE FRAUD CASE

DALLAS, TEXAS — October 2025 — McCathern, Shokouhi, Evans Partner and Chairman of the firm’s White Collar & Government Investigations practice,  Daniel K. Hagood, was featured this week in a WFAA Dallas news story after a major federal health care fraud case in Dallas collapsed due to prosecutorial misconduct, including the destruction of court-ordered evidence and the use of a confidential informant within a defense team’s inner circle. Hagood, who represented one of the defendants not involved in any wrongdoing related to the prosecutorial misconduct, told WFAA that the government’s actions “destroyed the prosecution’s credibility and violated core principles of justice.” He added that such conduct would have been treated far more seriously if committed by anyone outside the government and warned that the leniency shown sends a “dangerous message about accountability.” Following revelations that a federal prosecutor and a defense attorney deleted evidence, the Department of Justice dismissed all charges with prejudice, permanently clearing Hagood’s client and ending the case.
