On February 28, 2014, McCathern took part in breaking a Guinness World Record. In honor of the legendary Dr. Seuss and his birthday, Armstrong Elementary School and the Armstrong Elementary Dad’s Club, both based in Highland Park, gathered together to break the record set in New York for 281 participants wearing the well-known “The Cat in the Hat” hats all at once. The event, sponsored by McCathern, blew the old record out of the water with a total of 726 participants wearing the iconic hats simultaneously.
The school week leading up to this event was a five-day celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday for the students that included celebrity guests, green eggs and ham, and other activities that promoted developing a passion of reading for children. The Armstrong Dad’s Club also used the week-long celebration to donate money to various charities, including CLASP International and Dallas Afterschool. Our firm is proud to have been a part of such a great cause, and thrilled we were able to assist in breaking this world record!
