McCathern partner Matthew Gilpin

McCathern, PLLC is excited to announce the addition of partner Matthew Gilpin to the firm.  Matthew joined McCathern’s  Dallas office in June 2018 and will serve the firm with a primary focus on probate matters, estate administrations, and inheritance issues.

Matthew’s previous work experience involved managing all aspects of probate cases, legal and administrative, from start to finish.This includes helping his clients find the most efficient and cost effective solutions to settling estate matters.  Additionally, Matthew advised clients regarding estate planning and asset protection as well as drafted trusts, wills, directives, releases, and other estate planning documents.  Matthew firmly believes that to create the most effective estate plan it must be tailored to fit the individual’s unique goals and circumstances

Matthew attended the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now known as Texas A&M University School of Law) where he obtained his law degree in 2010. During law school, Matthew was an active member on the Board of Trial Advocates, Moot Court Honor Society, Mock Trial competition teams, and the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Upon graduating, Matthew was inducted into the Order of Barristers for outstanding accomplishments in oral advocacy.  He also attended Texas State University where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2003.

Matthew’s knowledge and background help him to have an extensive understanding of probate and estate concerns. By maintaining open and timely communication, he has built strong relationships with his clients and embodies McCathern’s motto of Improving People’s Lives by making customer satisfaction his ultimate goal.

Matthew is a board member for the City of Keller’s Zoning Board of Adjustment which considers appeals and adjustments to the City of Keller’s zoning ordinances. Matthew enjoys volunteering in city government as well as other civic groups and organizations.
