On November 2nd through the 3rd, McCathern Houston’s co-managing partner, Rodney “the Councillor” Drinnon, won a belt at Sonny’s International Masters Boxing Tournament sanctioned by USA Boxing in Goodyear, Arizona. Rodney accompanied one of his oil and gas clients, Rick Bobigian, to the event. Mr. Bobigian is an undefeated Masters boxer who at 70 years young fights like a man half his age. They both work out together at the Main Boxing Gym in Houston, Texas under the tutelage of experienced trainer Bobby Benton.
Not surprisingly, Rodney is a litigator who brings the same intensity in the courtroom as he does in the ring. A former collegiate wrestler and boxing enthusiast, he 
represents pro bono several up and coming boxers in addition to his numerous oil and gas and commercial litigation clients. Mr. Bobigian and Rodney often spar together, where he quips, “where else can you hit your lawyer in the face?”
