Biography
Attorney Jesse R. Showalter is an experienced and respected litigator who joined McCathern in 2022. Jesse has tried 19 jury trials, handling cases on behalf of individuals and corporations at the state and federal levels. He focuses his practice in the areas of Business and Commercial Litigation, Commercial Trucking, Construction Litigation, Employment Law, Insurance Litigation, and Personal Injury. In addition, he has experience with Wrongful Death, Cyber Liability Claims and Data Breach counseling, and Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) claims.
Jesse routinely handles pre-suit investigations and claims that involve wrongful death and catastrophic injuries, including brain damage, paralysis, amputation and orthopedic injuries. In addition, Jesse has managed extensive document review and represented and advocated for clients in hearings, mediations and depositions, and has negotiated numerous positive settlements on behalf of clients.
Jesse understands that not every case will or should go to trial. From early case evaluation onward, he shapes his input to clients so that they understand whether a case should be pursued aggressively through trial or resolved through creative settlement options. Jesse prides himself on being proactive and giving each case his focused attention from the moment it comes through the door, providing the framework to build a successful case.
In recognition of his consistently successful counsel, Jesse was named to the 2022 and 2023 Super Lawyers Texas Rising Stars lists and he was named by his peers to the prestigious Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® list for both Litigation – Construction and Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants. He is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, representing his work on a trial verdict, award or settlement in the amount of $2 million or more. Jesse graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2010 with a B.S. in Environmental Science before earning his J.D. from the South Texas College of Law Houston in 2013. He is member of the Dallas Bar Association (DBA) and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Association (DAYL).
