Attorney Asher K. Miller joined McCathern’s Dallas office in 2022 and focuses his practice on Business & Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury & Wrongful Death, Directors & Officers Liability, Construction Litigation, Employment Law, Probate Law, Insurance Litigation, and Appellate Litigation. In the courtroom, Asher has been a competitor who fearlessly advocates for his clients. While few civil lawsuits ever go to trial (1-5% in Texas)—Asher in just three years has already tried four complex civil lawsuits to a jury, each time resulting in unanimous verdicts in his clients’ favor.
Asher earned his J.D. from Baylor Law School in 2022. While at Baylor he excelled in Baylor’s renowned Practice Court program, an invaluable training experience for future trial attorneys. Asher further won numerous awards at Baylor for his skills in written and oral advocacy, winning Baylor’s Spring 2020 “Write-On” competition and defeating many opponents across the country in moot court and mock trial tournaments. Asher also served for two years on the esteemed Baylor Law Review, earning the title of Senior Executive Editor.
Asher graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Texas A&M University in 2017 with a B.S. in Political Science and Government. He minored in Mandarin Chinese and earned a graduate certificate in Advanced International Affairs from the Bush School of Government and Public Service. During all four years of Asher’s undergraduate studies, he actively served in Texas A&M’s student military organization, the Corps of Cadets, attaining a senior officer rank and, with it, years of hands-on experience in leadership and perseverance.
Before enrolling in law school, Asher also devoted a year of his life working and living overseas in mainland China. In the Chinese megacity of Chongqing, Asher utilized unique cross-cultural communication skills to work as a college-level educator at a Chinese vocational school there, and he further attained a degree of business fluency in standard Mandarin he maintains and uses with his clients today.
Asher is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, and International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitrators Forum.
When not practicing law, Asher enjoys traveling to unique places with his wife and dog, Milo, as well as oil painting, learning languages, and watching Cowboys and Aggie football.
